NEED HELP!! Making a pie and I just realized I have no measuring spoons, is there a way to improvise....?!

Question: with normal everyday teaspoons (the ones we use to eat, I have small and Large) the pie calls for 1/2 tsp. of vanilla extract, 1/4 tsp of ground ginger, etc. So can you tell me a way to eye it using a normal spoon or some other method???? Please help!!!!

Basically, you'll just have to eyeball it. If you have a small bottle of vanilla, it's lid probably holds 1/2 tsp. For the ground ginger, I'd guess 1/4 tsp. as a little less than a regular pencil top eraser (only the pink part that you can see!).

I won't try to guess the capacities on your everyday spoons, because they all vary too much. My everyday teaspoon hold about a level teaspoon, but my nephew's holds almost a tablespoon! Make sure you add measuring spoons to your shopping list - they probably carry them at your grocery store!

just eyeball the vanilla... even if you put more, it'll be good.

for ? tsp. ginger, I'd use 1 3-finger pinch of it. (thumb+ forefinger + middle finger)

use the cap for vanilla, about 1/2 to a 1/4 of that and a small-medium pich of the ginger.
