What is the green froth from that occurs when I cook steel cut oats in my stainless steel pot?!

Question: I'm not sure if it's from the stainless steel or not. I think it has occured when I used my teflon one as well. When I cook my oats a green frothy/sludge rises to the top and I have to skim it off. It doesn't reoccur once I take it off. NO ONE seems to have any idea what the heck I'm talking about. I searched it online and this was all I found:

Obviously, me and these other two women are the only people that have this happen in the whole US??? What is going on here? How can no one else have this happening to them? It's only when I cook steel cut oats too!!

I know I'm not much of a help because I make steel cut oats in a stainless steel pot, and it's never happened to me. Maybe try a different brand of oats? I use quick-cooking steel cut oats. Or try using lowfat milk instead of water (in case it has something to do with the water where you live).
