Are there specific ways to cook carrots that can lessen the sweetness?!


Question: I love the texture of cooked carrots, but I dislike the sweet 'center'. I have tried boiling, steaming, salting them, but I can't cut that sweetness out. When my boyfriend's mother cooks them, they never taste sweet. Is there a special trick or ingredient that cancels out that sweetness?

Carrots are by nature loaded with sugars.

You might go get some parsnips and cook them or some turnips. Both have a lessor sugar content than carrots. and the same texture when cooked.

remember that baby carrots are naturally sweeter than regular sized carrots. try switching to the regular size and see what you get
