A recipe for Molasses Snow Candy?!

Question: My pepere used to make us this awesome snow candy...I know he used molasses and probably butter....maybe brown sugar? He'd boild it in a sauce pan and we'd pour it over snow packed into baking pans.... Anyone know the proper ingredients and amounts?? I've tried looking it up on-line but I keep getting Maple Syrup recipes. Would it come out the same if I used Molasses in place of the maple syrup?

wouldn't hurt to try it while there is snow!!! My dad grew up in quebec & talked about how much molasses was a household staple--boiling it in a saucepan & pouring it in snow sounds about right. snow candles are made the same way. just try it---ya never know!!
