Does anyone have a recipe for a chocolate cake with white icing that tastes like a cake from a bakery?!
Answers: My boyfriend loves the choc. cakes with white icing from the neighborhood bakery. His birthday is coming up and I know I should probably just make it easy on myself and buy it but I would like to make it. Does anyone have a recipe for a chocolate cake with that reeeally sweet icing that you get in a bakery?
Im not sure you can make a homemade cake taste like a bakery cake. If he likes that...don't even bother baking it. You could always pick it up plain and decorate it yourself if you feel you want to contribute something to it....
Do not go to the trouble of spending $$$ on a homemade cake with excellent ingredients, better flavor and much time invested on your part if he likes a cheapo bakery cake...go to the bakery! (At least all the bakeries in my neighborhood are cheapo in the taste area.)
This is easy & really good:
Buy a box of chocolate cake mix (devils, dark, which ever you prefer) I like Ducan Hines brand best.
1 pack of chocolate instant pudding
4 eggs & 1/2 of oil & water (not exactly sure about the amount of oil & water, just whatever is listed on the box).
Mix it all together & pour into a bunt pan.
Cook for about 40 minutes or until the knife come out clean after sticking it in the cake.
Cream Cheese frosting - microwave it for about 45 seconds & then dip a knife in it & drizzle over the cake.
The cake comes out really moist & the drizzle of frosting adds just the right amount of sweetness.
