Can I put rising bread in the refidgerator to slow the process?!

Question: I am making bread and it has already risen once. It is now in a bread pan rising for a second time. I want it to be finished for dinner which isn't for another 2 hours. Can I put it in the fridge to slow the rising process or will it ruin the bread?
