What would be a nice cheese spread for your bread ?!

Sorry but if it's cheese, it's gonna be creamy! Unless you want a fish pate or something like that? You could blend smoked salmon with some cream cheese. That would cost about 6-10 dollars depending on the quality of the salmon that you choose. This spread is also good on crackers!

Type of bread can also make a difference.

I would recommend checking out KauKauma Cheeses. They are relatively inexpensive and come in several flavors. Usually around $5.00 for a tub.

you can make your own boursin... 8oz cream cheese, 1/4 cup butter, 1/2 tsp. tarragon, 1/2 tsp chervil, 1/2 tsp parsley, 1/2 tsp garlic powder. Soften the cream cheese and butter. Add herbs and garlic, blend well.

You're asking for a SPREAD then not wanting it creamy???? All cheese spreads that I can think of are relatively creamy it is the nature of the beast.
