What are some spanish home cooked recipes. thanks?!
"1080 Recipes" has been a best selling cookbook for over 30 years in Spain (containing traditional Spanish meals and tapas and drinks, etc) and would be compared to our "Joy of Cooking" or "Better Homes" cookbook. Check it out.
I have tried many recipes and they have all met fabulous review. These are traditional recipes...not commercial, stereotypical fare at all.

I ended up getting this book for $20 at Costco, but it retails for around $40. Worth every penny.
Answers: YOu need this cookbook! I collect cookbooks, especially cookbooks from other countries that are respected and show traditional recipes. It is called "1080 Recipes" I bought it and I dont even have it on my bookshelf anymore it is on my coffee table. It has been a fabulous conversation piece!

I've traveled many times through Spain and one of my favorites has always been gazpacho. My mouth is watering just typing the word!
Try this or any variation of it until it suits your fancy YUM!
Gazpacho
Ingredients
1 1/2 pounds ripe tomatoes, each cut into quarters
1 cup coarsely chopped peeled cucumber
1/2 cup coarsely chopped Vidalia or other sweet onion
1/2 cup coarsely chopped red bell pepper
1/2 cup coarsely chopped green bell pepper
3 tablespoons sherry vinegar
2 tablespoons extra-virgin olive oil
1/2 teaspoon salt
1/4 teaspoon sugar
1/4 teaspoon ground cumin
5 garlic cloves, coarsely chopped
Preparation
Combine all the ingredients in a food processor; process until smooth. Press tomato mixture through a sieve over a bowl, pressing solids through with the back of a spoon; discard any remaining solids. Cover and chill.
