21 ounce Can blueberry pie filling
1/2 c. Crisco shortening (highest grade)
1/4 tsp. salt
1 drop buttercream flavor (optional)
4 tbsp. water
1 lb. powdered sugar, sifted

Mix shortening, flavoring, salt and buttercream flavor thoroughly together. Add powdered sugar and water and mix with an electric mixer at top speed to whipped cream consistency, 5 minutes. Keep sealed and in the refrigerator. Add more water as needed. This is decorator quality icing from a cake decorating class.

Preparation
Beat butter at medium speed with an electric mixer 20 seconds or until fluffy. Add powdered sugar and blueberries, beating at low speed until creamy. (Add more sugar if frosting is too thin, or add blueberries if too thick.)

DIRECTIONS

Add salt, vanilla, and 6 ounces whipping cream. Blend on low speed until moistened. Add additional 2 ounces whipping cream if necessary. Beat at high speed until frosting is fluffy.
