What is turkey ham? Is it unhealthy?!
Answers: I'm a teacher and have to pack my lunch. Cold Cuts must be unhealthy, and considering I got this turkey ham for $3.50/lb it is probably very unhealthy, but it is so delicious! It is made by Jennie O, a prominent turkey producer. Can some one tell me how bad this is for me?
It's more healthier than regular ham, most diabetic are told to switch to turkey ham turkey bologna and turkey hot dogs. They are the lesser of two evils, and they taste pretty good.
besides extra salt it's not as bad as you think.
It's just ham -probably thighs, some subproducts, bits and cuts, pushed together and boiled.
Aren't you little exagerating how bad it is?
Well, you can always get info at the store about ingredients. Read it, If you see bad stuff, then you , of course, must stop eating it... Let us here know too.. :) OK?
"Turkey" ham, bacon, pastrami, etc....are all products that are for people who don't eat pork or beef, (or are trying to stay on a 'healthy' diet) but they eat turkey or sometimes chicken.........there are similar products that offer the same "effect" in texture and flavor to those who eat meat, but who don't eat beef or pork.......Enjoy!!

turkey or ham> if its those fat free things its healthy. I rather eat that. which is much healthy, then eating some kind of fatty fast food. plus packing food saves big time money saving.
Turkey is good for you. Low in fat. This is processed turkey made to taste sort of like ham that is normally made from pork. The only problem with this is that it most likely contains sodium nitrite and nitrate which is not especially good for you. If you are generally healthy though, EAT UP! ....and pass the mustard!
It's not bad. It's smoked. My mother worked in a farmer's market. She had some Jewish customers who would buy it because it tasted like ham, but wasn't ham, so they were allowed to eat it.
