How do you remove the fat from the soup?!

Question: Three ways that I use:
1-skim off the fat while it's cooking.
2-roll ice cubes in a thin, clean, kitchen towel and troll over the soup top...fat will cling to the cold of the towel.
3-put the pot in the frig overnight, and skim off the congealed fat in the morning.

Works every time!

Fats rise. So cook-and-skim.

You chill the soup in the frig. The fat will gell and form a layer on the top. Then just skim it off.

If you have the time, cool the soup to refrigerator temps. Then the fat hardens on the top, and you can take it off in pieces, without loosing the broth.

skim it of with a basting spoon.you can also get jugs with a tap on the base, which leaves the floating fat in the jug as you drain from the bottom

Yup, it rises.
My mom waits till she sees it surface and just ladles it out very carefully into a little bowl. The fat is usually whitish, bubbly or,just looks different from the rest of the soup on top.

I usually just take a few Ice cubes and put them at the top. They chill the fat and make it solid enough to scoop out. You can also find filters at the store that will absorb the fat. I found mine at Wal-mart.

Pre boil your meat. Rince with hot water and then add your ingredients.

Just skim it off with a soup serving spoon.

As the soup cools the fat will rise to the top....then it can be skimmed off easily.
