How long does cooking wine last after being opened?!

Question: it's been opened for about 4 months or so...only used it when first bought. can i still use it?

i've learned on YA! that cooking wine is full of salt, and if you don't drink it don't cook with it, BUT i still want to know

of course you can! as you may know some wine is aged in barrels for years- so certainly it will be fine- maybe even better tasting after this time. Alcohol acts as something of a preservative. it would be great in that recipe.

I have kept some in the past for up to a year or more.

Yes, it should last at least a year. I'm not sure it ever gets too bad to cook with, maybe a little vinegary though.

about 3 years. but even if it turns a bit sour you still can make meatloaf, pork chops or spaghetti with it.

it could last a few years. but make sure to keep it in a secluded area with the top closed.
