What kinds of things can I make with a stand mixer?!
Does it puree or anything? Dice?
Answers: I have recently gotten into cooking. I am thinking about purchasing a Kitchenaid mixer, but it looks like all I can really use it for is baking recipes, like cookies or breads.

OOO, a kitchenaid, my dream appliance. When I was 17 I spent a year with my grandmother and we made a ton of stuff with that thing. puree, no, mix, blend, shred (if you have the attachments). Bread, cookies (60 dozen for Christmas presents) Divinity, It is used primarily for mixing. It has several attachments, which may or may not come with it. The following links give some examples of uses for it. Pasta making, sausage stuffing, cheese or veggie shredder. Some day I will have a kitchenaid and can bake to my little heart's content. They are American made and are workhorses.
Stand mixers are used almost entirely for baking -- there's really nothing better for that purpose. If you want a general-use appliance, you might be better off with a food processor.
Nope. Just mixes the things you listed. You have to get a food processor or blender for the other things you want.
they have several attachments. my husband uses the meat grinder to make deer jerky.
I'll second another of the answers.
If you're looking for a TRUE multi-tasker, I'd look into a food processor, instead of a stand mixer. In order to do much more than mixing stuff for baking, you'll need attachments...like pasta rollers, ice cream makers, meat grinders, and sausage stuffers.
Incidentally, for what it's worth, do NOT get one of the "little" food processors. Get one that has a capacity of at least 7 cups! Yes, you'll pay more, but it'll be a TON more versatile!!!!
some other attachments you can buy seperately are:
pasta maker/cutter/roller
sausage stuffer
Juicer
Grinder
ICECREAM MAKER (yum)
food strainer
can opener
slicer/shredder
Its a very useful gadget to have sitting on your counter!! Have fun!!!
I love my kitchen aid stand mixer, but knives are for dicing, and food processors or blenders are for purees!
