Unlike sauces from Texas and Kansas City, this sauce from South Carolina's Piedmont area is thin and vinegary. Note that it is not cooked. To tone down the tartness, add more ketchup and brown sugar to taste.

1 1/2 cups apple cider vinegar
1 cup ketchup
2 tablespoon (packed) brown sugar
1 teaspoon salt
1/2 teaspoon dried crushed red pepper
Splash of liquid smoke

I use this on my pulled pork. Add mayo to the sauce for a good southern cole slaw.

sorry do you mean ketchup

ok .... Bean Casserole (Crockpot)
I've made this and it is really good!

1/2 lb. bacon, cut into 1-in. pieces
1 lb. ground beef
1/2 cup chopped onion
1/3 cup firmly packed brown sugar
1/2 cup ketchup
1 tbsp. mustard
2 tsp. Worcestershire sauce
1 (16-oz.) can pork and beans, undrained
1 (15-oz.) can light red kidney beans, undrained
1 (15 1/2-oz.) can butter beans, drained

Cook bacon in large skillet until lightly browned. Remove from skillet; drain on paper towels. In same skillet, brown ground beef and onion until beef is thoroughly cooked. Drain.

In 3 1/2 to 4-qt. slow cooker, combine cooked bacon, (I usually Crumble it) cooked ground beef and onion, and all remaining ingredients; mix well. Cover; cook on LOW setting for 7 to 8 hours.
Serves 6.
You can also make as a casserole!

Mini Meat Loaves
1/2 cup ketchup
2 tablespoons packed brown sugar
1 lb lean (at least 80%) ground beef
1/2 lb ground pork
1/2 cup Original Bisquick? mix (or you can use crackers)
1/4 teaspoon pepper
1 small onion, finely chopped (1/4 cup)
1 egg

1. Heat oven to 450°F. In small bowl, stir ketchup and brown sugar until mixed; reserve 1/4 cup for topping. In large bowl, stir remaining ingredients and remaining ketchup mixture until well mixed.
2. Spray 13x9-inch pan with cooking spray. Place meat mixture in pan; pat into 12x4-inch rectangle. Cut lengthwise down center and then crosswise into sixths to form 12 loaves. Separate loaves, using spatula, so no edges are touching. Brush loaves with reserved 1/4 cup ketchup mixture.
3. Bake 18 to 20 minutes or until loaves are no longer pink in center and meat thermometer inserted in center of loaves reads 160°F.

They are really good if you just have a few people and even better (if you like the outside part of the meatloaf!)
I probably have a few more too, lol....
Have fun Sweetie!

In spaghetti, if you dont have the sauce you can use the ketchup, does that count?

Meatballs....First you cook the meatballs and set them aside...then in a pot you simmer 1/2 cup grape jelly, 3 tbsp ketchup (catsup), 1/4 cup brown sugar and 1 bottle of chilli sauce until it all is mixed well then toss the meatballs in that.

Awesome Meatloaf
Ketchup is in the glaze also

3 to 4 pounds lean ground beef
1/2 large onion, finely chopped, about 1/2 cup
1 bell pepper, chopped
1/3 cup evaporated milk
2 eggs
1 1/2 packages (sleeves) of crackers, crumbled
A-1 Sweet and tangy steak sauce
1 small can (8 ounces) tomato sauce
1/2 bottle of ketchup (1 cup)
.
Glaze:
2 TBS. Prepared mustard (powdered)
1/2 cup ketchup
1/4 cup brown sugar
PREPARATION:
Place ground beef in large bowl. Add chopped onion and bell pepper. Pour in a whole bottle of A-1TM Steak sauce, 1/2 medium bottle of ketchup, 1 small can tomato sauce. Beat 2 eggs in cereal bowl and add enough evaporated milk to fill bowl.

Pour in meatloaf mixture and mix with hands thoroughly. Add enough cracker crumbs to make the mixture stick together.
Recipe makes 2 large loaves, so you could split and freeze half of the mixture.

Mold meat into a loaf in a roaster or similar deep dish pan. Bake at 350-375 degrees for about an hour and a half, or until it appears to be done. You may also drain some of the juice off of the loaf before you top with glaze, but not too much because it will result in a dry meatloaf.

Mix glaze ingredients and cover meatloaf with it. Bake uncovered until coating is cooked.

meatloaf - kwik easy & yummy

1 pound meat
6-10 crackers
1 egg
2-4 tablespoons ketsup
1 tbsp worchester sause
salt/pepper to taste
1/2 yellow onion - chopped & 2 cloves garlic

put together, put in pan cook 350 F for about one hour, put more ketsup on top, bake another 5 minutes - serve

yumo

meat loaf dear

I sub in ketchup if I've bought more ground round (beef) than marinara for my meatloaf.

1lbs (1.5lbs for some ketchup luvv)
grated carrots (approx 3)
finely chopped red onion
seasoning packet for chili
2 eggs
2 cups bread crumbs (the kind ya get in a tube on dry shelves/canned goods-supermarket, grocery, whatever)

mix it up, form "loaf" but do not pack the mixture too tight otherwise you'll be done cooking next year's thanksgiving turkey before this sucker's done.
cook for approx 40 mins...depending on your oven. If you're unsure slit the middle of the loaf and check to see rareness of meat.

Oh..and squirt as much "catsup" as you like on it toots..cuz it's freakin' cheap, easy, and delicious. (Although I recommend Ragu Marinara)

chicken legs & thighs 2 1/2 - 3 lbs
1 package dry onion soup mix (If bought bulk at health food store 1/2 cup = 1 package)
1/4 cup brown sugar
1/2 cup ketchup
1/4 cup water
mix and pour over chicken and bake 350 for at least one hour until very tender. Serves 4-6 I serve with rice( cooked in oven along side the chicken in separate dish of course) so easy and always perfect results, a veg. on the side and a perfect meal with little effort.
I call this my chicken in a hurry and alway a great dish and fast to prepare for unexpected company so I always keep chicken parts in freezer. If using frozen allow extra cooking time and check during cooking and spoon sauce over pieces of meat if not already coated enjoy

Add the broth and ketchup and peas and butter and bring to a boil. Cover and simmer for 20 minutes. Mix it up and add salt and pepper to taste. Enjoy!
