Can I bake a cake in a glass dish?!

Question: The recipe I've got is for a 8-1/2" x 11" cake and I don't have a baking tin that size, will it work ok with a pyrex dish?

Of course, grease it well though, since cakes baked in glass have a tendency to stick. I bake cakes and brownies in my glass bake ware all the time.

yes it'll be fine .you might have to adjust oven temp.

Yes, just make sure you grease it really well, and dust with flour. Cakes stick to glass like you wouldn't believe, but you can use it.

sure can

yes you can.. but i think it will still be a little white underneath :)

Yes you can use a glass dish but don't forget to grease it well to prevent sticking.

Yeah hun, you should be fine. Just be certain that you grease that pan down well. =)

I do not think you should stick glass in the oven.

Yes you can, just make sure you butter all sides and dust the sides with flour.

it'll work just make sure to grease the pan, and watch it while it's cooking.

i never use tin pans-- always glass.

Absolutely... go for it. mmmm cake!

Yes

It is safe to bake your cake in a pyrex, just butter it and flour it. Lower the temperature. I made a banana bread and it turned out great.

Yes! BUT>>>>>>>>> turn the temperature down 25 degrees.

I bake in glass all the time.... good luck!
