What is a good substitute for dry sherry wine?!
Answers: I have some good recipes, but don't like sherry in them...any ideas?
Marsala, port, Burgundy are all good substitutes.....
Marsala or Vermouth, or just a dry white wine.
Not much as it has that rich nutty flavor...If that is what you don't like, then you could use any good red or white wine, or ground walnuts if you like the nutty flavor with an = of other liquid like vodka...so many recipes calling for sherry call for nutmeg, could it be that is the flavor you don't like? ? ? Just a guess.
Very dry, cooking white wine...or just very dry white wine...not the fruity tasting white. There's also a Chinese cooking wine in the International aisle you might like.
Tip: You can cook with any wine you would drink...Emeril Lagasse.
Chinese rice wine.
U can use red wine i think.
Good luck.
