yes but there is a limit however.

dont go lower than 325 degrees. At too low a temperature, it may take too long to cook and you wont get a nice crust on the meatloaf. so much potential flavour is in that crust.

with ground meat especially, it is not a good idea to let it sit at room temp for long, uncooked so if you think you may get tied up, then wait.

if you have an oven that is fully programmable and you can set it to cook with a temperature probe then do that. it is better to sit for an hour once its cooked than to hold food at room temp uncooked for any period

if you dont have an oven with a timer then it is probaly too old to be reliable to leave it unattended at all. buy a slow cooker instead.

they cook good in a slow cooker to

you can cook it for a lower time and it would cook longer.so live the temp on lower.

Absolutely , but don't go under 75 celcius . else you don't kill the bacteria.

Yes, you can,,,as long as the internal temperature reaches 165 f . it should be ok

you could use your crock pot and slow cook it...they are really good that way, but by lowering the temp and cooking for a longer period of time.......your meatloaf might lose it's moistness and become dry, or on the flip side....might retain too much moisture and fall apart....my suggestion would be to cook it before you leave...then leave it in your oven covered well.....with the oven turned off....then when you return home reheat 15 minutes.....

Yes you can but I am not to sure how much I would trust the oven being on when you are not home. Alot of fires are started randomly by stuff like that.

A great alternative is to cook it in a crock pot or slow cooker tastes just as great and a little safer when you are not home.

Hope it works out for ya!

By the way a yumy think I do to make my meatloaf great is add in some american cheese when i am mixing it all together OMG is it good!

I cook my meatloaf at 350 for 1 hour or a little longer.

Try using a slow cooker instead ( crock pot) makes great meat loaf . Here is a good slow cooker recipe for you to try.

You can, but when you do get home (are you sure you want to leave your oven on when you're not home?) turn the temp up so it get a little crust on top. I think all meat loafs need this. And it will "brown" the drippings which make excellent gravy for mashed potatoes! Yum.

Yes, try 325F for two hours. The most important thing is that the internal temperature reaches 160F.

Yes of course it will be even better!

cook at 200 cover with lid or foil when you get home take off lid turn up also if you put bread under meat loaf it will keep it from burning on bottom and sop up grease (discard bread when read to eat or just don't eat it )
