Crock Pot Roast
2 lb. beef roast
1/2 c. cold water
3 peeled and quartered onions
6 halved, but not peeled potatoes
Steps
1.Put the vegetables in the bottom of the crockpot.
2.Cover the vegetables with the meat.
3.Season meat with salt and pepper.
4.Pour water over meat and vegetables.
5.Simmer on low for 8 to 10 hours.

You can do a good rub down of honey and mustard, then sprinkle with garlic powder. Rub it down and make it feel loved.

Instead of slow cooking in a slow cooker place it in a baking dish, add the onions and potatoes, cover with aluminum foil and put it in the oven @ 250 degrees and let it cook for about 4-5 hours.

If you want to use the crock pot do the same and use it but only put enough water in the bottom to keep it from sticking. Add the onions and potatoes. Peel the potatoes around the middle only and leave the skin on either end. Leave the onions whole. The roast will make it's own natural juices and flavor with the honey, mustard and garlic powder you added to season it.

There is a secret to the honey and mustard and how it allows the meat to cook tender and juicy every time.

Good luck.

If you have onion soup mix you can use that, some red wine would work too. Make sure to add a lot of seasoning to make up for it.,....salt, pepper, garlic powder, dry oregano, dry basil, italian seasoning. If you have a packet of Good Seasons Italian dressing - you know the powder - that's great in a pinch too!

Do you have any bouillon...Add a couple of cubes. Also, red wine and/or Worcestershire sauce are good. A little Italian seasoning helps. A can of chopped tomatoes would add flavor. Add a little chopped garlic. I've also seen people use Italian dressing or barbecue sauce as seasoning.

Any combination of the above depending on your tastes.

about a quarter full of water dice up an oinon andput the potatoes in about two hours before done with a little more water if needed. season it with what you have and like a bay leaf would help. cook on low about 10 hours so it won't get tough

ARM ROAST

1 (2 1/2 to 3 lb.) arm roast
1 can cream of mushroom soup
1 pkg. Lipton's onion soup mix, dry

Line baking dish with foil (enough to also cover roast). Place roast in foil lined pan. Add mushroom soup. Sprinkle the onion soup mix over the mushroom soup. Fold ends of foil together to cover the roast. Place in preheated 300 degree oven for 2 1/2 to 3 hours. About 50 minutes per pound.

Not to worry, use water.
Potatoes and onions will be perfect for your roast.

Stay warm.

put some oil ( 2 tablespoons in a pan and sear the roast on all side on medium heat in the pot.( about 5 minutes) then add a little water to it ( 1 - 2 cups or so.. leave the roast sitting in it bring it to a boil and let boil for 3 minutes and then remove the roast.. scrape all the brown stuff stuck on the bottom of the pan and mix well with the water.. add 1/2 tsp salt, a couple crushed cloves of garlic or 2 tsp garlic powder not garlic salt if you only have the garlic salt, omit adding the regular salt, add pepper, and if you have any dried herbs like parsley add them and some beef oxo ( 1 -2 tsp) if you have it. now pour over the roast in the slow cooker
once the roast is sitting in this with the veggies you want to add it will have a wonderful flavour and you can use the broth later for making a gravy if you wish.
gravy...instruction
put 1/2 cold water in a shaker, add 2 tsp flour put on the lid and shake well until all lumps are gone. you can add more flour to the water is you want it thicker, and more water if you want to add more liquid to the gravy...
bring the liquid in the slowcooker to a boil and slowly add the flour/water mixture and keep stirring , it will begin to boil and thicken,,,voila there you have it..
if the Gravy needs salt and pepper to taste add it **** after you make the gravy.... if the liquid is too salty you can peel a potato and leave it in the juice , it will absorb the excess salt....

use some beef stock, or onion soup mix with just the water and vegetables, and you'll be good to go.
