What type of bread for bread bowl?!

Question: I am going to make broccoli cheddar soup for some friends, and I was wondering what type of bread to use as the bread bowl. Any ideas?

Usually sourdough is the bread of choice, but there are lots of other varieties and flavors now, like garlic & olive oil, caraway rye, parmesan, etc...The parm would probably go great with your soup. Sounds yummy!

i would think that round loaves of sourdough bread would work well.

Sour dough bread works great.

sourdough or sheephearder but it needs to be a little stale

I use rye bread for bread bowls......they hold up better then a white for soup...plusput them in the over a little before you put in the soup

A pumpernickle loaf or sourdough bread is very good.
Actually any round loaf will do.
