Basic chicken wings?!

Question: My hubby bought a six piece package of chicken wings at the grocery store, and was going to fix them for him for dinner. any easy recipes (he's very plain-- he likes just salt and pepper, but I'm thinking BBQ sauce)-- they're already thawed in the fridge, how long to cook?

deep fry them for 15 minutes at 375-400 degrees...

after that you can add what ever you'd like to them....

serve them with just salt and pepper, or you can toss them in kikkoman teryaki sauce,

or traditional buffalo wings

melt 1/2 stick butter in a saucepan, add 1 cup franks red hot, bring to a boil and toss to coat wings.

15 minutes is average for crispy skin, if you like yours a little chewy, fry them less...... a good indication of when they are done, is about 2 minutes after they float....

4 minutes however is way too little, at 4 minutes you will have a chewy skin, and it wont be cooked all the way through

To make them nice and crispy, deep fry or fry in oil on the stove. In deep fryer, usually until nice and brown about 4 mins. while on the stove about 6-8 mins. and turning until nice and brown. Season as you like, and if you like BBQ sauce, coat them and stick in oven at 400 for a couple mins.

Dry them off and deep fry. 15 minutes seems a bit much. Sprinkle with salt and pepper after cooking and serve sauce separately. That should keep him happy until the main dish comes round. 6 chicken wings for 2 of you? Maybe USA chickens have bigger wings than European chicks.

Deep frying them will make them the most "restaurant like" but most bread them first. Your first answer is a good one and the butter and hot sauce IS what they use in restaurants as well. Now, an alternate way if you don't want to fry is to roll them around in bar-b-que sauce or teriyaki sauce and back them at 350 for about 30 minutes. Once they thaw out, you have to cook and eat them within three days. You may want to pick up a dozen or so more though because six usually isn't enough for one man, much less both of you. Most guys like a dozen wings... plus, if you're going through all the trouble of frying or baking them, you may as well make more. Now, you can refrigerate left overs and that'll keep for another 2-3 days, no more though. Enjoy! :-)

If you just want to make barbecue wing a real easy way is to boil the wings in water until the meat is cooked all the way through (no pink left) Then add them to a pan of BBQ sauce cover and cook over a Medium heat for about 25 minutes. Best served with a loaded baked potato and baked beans.
