How can i cook backstrap from a deer without having a deep fryer?!
Answers: I'd like other receipes to cook it rather then just deep frying. Can you pan fry it just in butter? Any receipes would be appreciated.
Back Strap is like Beef filet mignon you don't deep fry it, you'll ruin it.
Lay it long ways, right to left, and cut it into 1 1/2 inch to 2 1/2 inch steaks,
wrap a strip a bacon around each, secure with a tooth pic, rub with olive or canola oil and grill , season with salt and bepper or other seasoning (not Bar B Q ).
Keep chilled until 1/2 hour or so and broil until medium pink on the inside. If you over cook them, they will be dry and tough.
Whats a backstrap?
Heat a generous amount of cooking oil in a large sauce pan, this will be your equvalent to deep frying!
marinate it and cook it on the grill....
My husband and brother in law love it this way. Wrap end to end in bacon, and grilled over charcoal.
The bacon serves to add flavor to the meat as well as keeping it moist.
You could probably cut it into strips, pound it flat, bread and fry it. Kinda like chicken fried steaks.
Yum, I don't care for venison much but the backstraps are great. We cut them into little steaks about 3/4 inch thick. I put them in seasoned flour and fry in a pan with just a bit of oil. I fry them fast and not for long. I like them slightly pink. Not medium rare like beef, but more like medium. Just SLIGHTLY pink. Enjoy!!!
