small plate dont want to look nine months pregnant lol and something covered in chocolate hhhmhmmm i wonder what that could be???? leave that for the imagination ey?>

hmmm..........Small plate, don't want to be too full, and I am sure you can think of something sweet for desert :)

I wouldn't care it's the thought that counts. Big plate, small plate whatever as long as the guy is just reasonable to not worry about how big or small it is.

Big plate please and Hot chocolate fudge cake with vanilla ice-cream for afters, Thankyou.

i want it all... the whole nine yards =) !!! from aperitif to dessert, oh and it better taste good.

Use a large plate, but don't fill it, People will tend to eat what they are given, you can add more later if you have leftover, of some thing else.

If it is a lite meal you could have some trifle and custard.

A small plate and if I want more I can get more. And after....you mean a desert?

It depends what was for dinner. Mostly I prefer something light since I already feel kind of full.

Some champagne or sparkling wine with following deserts

1 qt. fresh strawberries
1 lg. Cool Whip
2 pkgs. strawberry glaze (gel)
1 angel food cake

Wash and slice strawberries, mix with the glaze. Dice or slice the cake in 1/2 inch pieces. In a large bowl (looks good in a glass bowl), put a layer of the cake in the bowl, then add a layer of the Cool Whip, top with a layer of the strawberries in the glaze. Keep doing this ending with a top layer of the Cool Whip. May want to keep out a few slices of strawberry to decorate the top. Chill to serve. This is also good with fresh blueberries and glaze and fresh peaches and glaze.

OR

LIGHT LUSCIOUS LEMON DESSERT

1 (3 oz.) pkg. lemon Jello
1 1/4 c. boiling water
1/2 c. sugar
1/4 tsp. salt
3 tbsp. lemon juice
1 c. Cool Whip
1 1/2 c. graham cracker crumbs

Dissolve Jello in boiling water. Add sugar, salt and lemon juice. Let set until mixture is slightly congealed. Fold in Cool Whip. Pour half of cracker crumbs in 8 x 8 inch pan. Cover with lemon mixture. Put remaining cracker crumbs on top. Chill in refrigerator for at least 3 hours. Cut into squares to serve. Put a little bit of Cool Whip on top to serve if you wish. This is a very old dessert. It's so good you might want to double the recipe. It keeps well.

a great big plate, and you can do the washing up

big plate and profitta rolls for after

I agree with sarah. I'd like the whole 9 yards! but that's me (living in France, you kinda get used to it all the time!) but I know last year when I was still in the states, I loved it when my boyfriend would make a simple dinner (his specialty- crab with fettucini alfredo) with wine. Do what you're comfortable with, and it'll be a much more pleasant evening. Whatever you do, test each recipe in advance. You don't want to have the stress of things not going exactly according to plan, or of not knowing exactly what to do, when you have impressing a lady on your mind. good luck ;)

Depends on what you're making, but it's nice to put the food into serving dishes and have it on the table so each serves himself/herself family-style.

If you're not yet dating to that degree of comfort/familiarity, then just consider what a "serving size" of something is and go with that. This is typically protein (meat or fish) the size of a deck of cards... carbs and veggies served in 1/2 cup portions.

If it's something like pasta with sauce as a main dish, go with about a one cup serving of the pasta, then sauce it. Salad in bowls, bread on the table in a basket/bowl.

Picture what you'd likely get in an American restaurant and then go smaller - lol

Dessert? Most women love any type of cheesecake... and anything with chocolate. You can get these in the freezer section or bakery in individual servings/slices and then just garnish with a bit of fresh fruit, berries are nice, strawberries or blackberries maybe...

appearance makes a big difference. if ur having a starter, main and desert then have it quite small, if you end up filling them up to much they wont have any energy after the meal for any 'activities'

i would like a large plate if it was salad but if its a hot dinner i want a small plate i have got used to small potions has for afters a nice apple and a cup of tea

seems sensible to go for medium.
