Flapjack measurements?!
Answers: Im looking to make flapjacks. Problem is the scales broke and have been thrown out. Does anyone know of the measurements in cups or tablespoons? Just until i can get some scales.
We use the standard one one one method lol
yes one
1 cup flour
1 cup milk
1 tablespoon sugar
1 teaspoon baking powder
1 egg
1 tablespoon melted butter or oil
Mix all together with a whisk just until it's mixed well no obvious lumps some small ones happen don't worry about them.
On occasion I have had to add a bit more milk, try a pancake first in the pan see how it spreads to know if you want to add more milk.
Turn once the tops show burst bubbles and start to look dry, they will be golden brown on the bottom.
I find medium high on a gas stove works with my pans. Do a test pancake first to see where you are with the heat on your stove.
Have fun add a cup of blueberries or what ever too.
you can double and triple this recipie as well. The amounts I've given here will feed three adults four six inch pancakes each.
Brown Sugar - 80g
Butter - 40g
Margarine - 60g
Oats - 250g
Salt - pinch
Banana - 1
Honey - 3tbsp
Making Method1. Melt the butter and the Margarine in a deep saucepan over a very low heat
2. add the brown sugar and 3 tablespoons of honey and mix well until you have a liquid substance.
3. Mix in the oats, if you find it easier add them in gradually stirring and covering the oats with the mixture
4. add a pinch of salt.
5. Mash the banana into a liquid pulp and mix into the oats (this will take a good few minutes to ensure that the banana is fully mixed in).
6. Get a knife and spread the oats evenly over a baking tray.
7. Place the baking tray onto the middle shelf in a preheated oven (gas mark 5, 220 C) and bake for 15 minutes, checking the progress regularly. Take out when the mixture starts turning a darker colour.
8. Stand for a minute or two, cut the flapjack into as many pieces as you wish
9. You may find it best to leave the flapjack for a few hours to cool down although you can eat them striaight away.
Serves: 12-15 pieces
Total Preparation Time: 15 minutes
Total Cooking Time: 15 minutes
Don't worry about scale measuring for flapjacks. Cups/tbsp measurements work well and quickly.

2 tablespoons vegetable oil
2 large eggs
1/2 cup honey

Combine all ingredients, except the apple, with an electric mixer. Stir in the grated apple and mix by hand.
Heat griddle or skillet over medium heat or to 375*F (190*C). Grease griddle with shortening. Griddle is ready when a few drops of water bubble and skitter rapidly around.
For each pancake, pour scant 1/4 cup batter onto hot griddle. Cook pancakes until puffed and dry around edges. Turn and cook other sides until golden brown.
