Popcorn? PLEASE HELP!?!
Answers: Okay... so I was making popcorn and I didnt see that it was a "mini" bag so I hit the popcorn button on the microwave which cooked it for 2 minutes. They burned bad and that was over 3 days ago and I can still smell that horrible smell. It is like idk caught in the vents or something. There is no popcorn stuck in the microwave I looked it over. I aired out the microwave too. I even ran the microwave with nothing in it and the smell is still there. What do I do? How can I make it go away? PLEASE HELP!
I did the same thing when I was making popcorn. So I washed the microwave and then I rinsed it with white vinegar.
Then I put a cup of water with a few drops of lemon juice in it and heated it up for 2 mins.
It cured the popcorn smell in the microwave but then I had to burn a pumpkin scented candle to get the smell out of the rest of the house. lol
hope this helps. good luck.
Get a new one easy right
Scrub your microwave out with a paste of baking soda and water.
Then take a plate and dump a huge pile of baking soda all over the plate and let it sit in the microwave with a 1/2 cup of water in a cup on the side for a few days, so it absorbs the smell.
You never said you tried to clean it..
So try cleaning it, lol.
I would clean the microwave with a good cleaner, let it air dry, then put some vinegar in a bowl and heat it in the microwave and let it set overnight. Let it air in the morning and see if if still smells. Repeat if necessary. Your microwave has a vent where air comes out, it it is facing the back and blowing on your wall, clean the wall too.
If you place a banana peel inside the microwave... Dont turn it on- Just leave it there... It should soak up the aroma. Its weird, but it works... It gets nasty smells out of everything...
Clean the microwave and then put a box of baking soda in it. Let it stay several days without using the oven.
It works in the refrigerator too.
fill a cup with white vinegar and sit inside the microwave overnight. Smell should disappear by morning.
