I make simple salads....very simple.....

Italian Salad: Cucumber slices, Tomato wedges and Italian dressing....

Lettuce, sliced onion, tomato wedges, green pepper strips, sliced cucumber circles. Favorite dressings.

I always grab the bag mix generally spinach and european than add cheese tomato cucumber carrots and some sunflower seeds

Spinach, strawberry slices, walnuts, crumbled feta or blue cheese & vinaigrette!

Baby field greens, toasted pine nuts, crumbled feta or blue cheese & vinaigrette!

Toasted pine nuts make everything they touch taste richer--and just one will go a LONG way! In Italy they're known as "Grandma's treasures" as she used to be the only one with enough time to collect them!

I like to get a bag salad at the market and then kick it up with other ingredients. You can add any or all of these: almonds, walnuts, apple or slices, orange segments, raisins, craisins... the list is endless. Have fun with it!

They make some awsome Ceasars Salad Dressings nowadays. You can buy them in the semi-refrigerated
sections around the fruits/veggie sections of grocery mkts.

Romaine Lett.-cut into 1'' sq. sze./ already spiced croutons/
parmesian grated cheese/ Ceasar Salad Dressing/ and shrimp or grilled chicken- or anchovies.

Toss it and enjoy. Serve w/ a good hot bread and some soup!

Cows and sheep can do it. Where's the problem? I mean come on. Throw some vegatables on some leafy greens. Geez.

i do it simple i just get tomatos, letuce and black olives and put dipping ranch not the dressing and i love how it tastes hope it helps

Alot of ingredients, but really easy and so worth the effort. If this is too many ingredients for you, another simple fav is some baby spinach with sunflower seeds and a creamy store bought parmesan dressing
Spinach Salad with Orange Dressing

6 naval oranges, chilled
4 cups spinach, trimmed
1 1/2 cups watercress
1 tablespoon pine nuts
1/3 cup minced shallot
2 cloves minced garlic (peeled)
5 tablespoons balsamic vinegar
2 teaspoons sherry vinegar
fresh ground black pepper to taste

Peel the oranges and remove the white pith. Over a bowl positioned to catch the juice, separate the segments of each orange from the membrane with a sharp knife, discarding the seeds and set them aside. Squeeze the residual juice from the membranes into the bowl and reserve.

Combine the spinach and watercress in a mixing bowl.

Put the pine nuts in a small saute pan and cook them over medium heat for about 6 minutes, shaking the pan occasionally, until the nuts are golden brown. Transfer the pine nuts to a small bowl.

Put the shallots, garlic, vinegars, and reserved orange juice into the saute pan. Bring to a boil over low heat. Stir in the he black pepper then pour the dressing over the spinach and watercress. Toss to coat.

Arrange the mixture on salad plates, spoon orange segments atop each, and garnish with the pine nuts, and if you like, orange wheels.

2 c. mixed field greens
7-8 sliced strawberries
1/4 c. chopped walnuts
1/4 c. crumbled blue cheese
1/4 c. sliced red onion
1/4 c. sliced button mushrooms
1/4 c. olive oil
3 tbsp white wine vinegar
3 tbsp strawberry jelly
3 tbsp sugar
1 tsp lemon juice

combine the oil, vinegar, jelly, sugar and lemon juice in the bowl, whisk until incorporated, reserve half

add the field greens to the bowl and toss to coat, remove onto a serving platter, top with remaining ingredients, and drizzle remaining dressing on top.

Take arugula salad greens as a base, add chopped tomato, cooked grilled chicken pieces and goat cheese. Season with salt and pepper and add equal portion balsamic vinegar and olive oil.
If you are just adding this salad to a soup or sandwich, you can just do arugula, tomato and dressing.

10-16 oz cooked small shrimp, shelled and deveined, chilled
1/2 large head lettuce, chopped
2 vine ripened tomatoes, cubed
green onion, chopped (optional)
1/3 cup mayonnaise
1/4 tsp garlic salt
salt and pepper, to taste

Mix all ingredients in a salad bowl and serve with Saltine crackers. This is a great lunch!

My favorite salad is:

Lettuce
Cheddar Cheese ( I prefer the cubed kind but shredded is ok also)
Grilled Chicken ( you can buy it cooked in a package at any grocery store )
Stove Top Stuffing Mix ( uncooked and the chicken flavor is best, but whatever you like)
Ranch Dressing

It is amazing :) I suggest you give it a try!
