When you're preparing Spanish Rice do you add tomato juice or V8 juice to give it that extra BAM...?!
Answers: I tried this recipe a few years ago and I will never make it different..I cook my rice(2 cups) in chicken broth till evaporated. then put in non stick skillet with just a few drops of olive oil stir in well then add 1/4 tsp cumin, and 1/4 cup of hot Pecante sauce..It;s the best and I never have left overs..
Add stewed tomato's
i was taught to add tomato sauce and a buillon cube.
Neither..usually a can of diced tomatoes, a can of tomato sauce...and BAM..from a few dashes of hot sauce.
I use tomato juice and a pinch of red pepper flakes in my spanish rice. Onions and hamburger browned, precooked rice mixed in and then the juice with the pepper flakes.
rotel baby
EM,, V8 is better, more vitamins.
Well I'm spanish and my mom usually adds tomato juice and her rice is so GOOD!!
Neither ........... its tomato sauce or paste. Nada, nothing more, thats it!!!!! But you can always "customize" your spanish rice the way you wish via tomato juice or V8
I add tomato sauce and tomato juice or V-8.I like both.Add your favorite seasoning..
I'd try the V8
NONE!!
That aint no mexican rice...
in a pan put Corn oil to warm up and put two pieces of garlic just to give it a little taste.... (dont put alot of oil just like 1/3 of a cup)
let it get hot....
then you put in the rice to burn little..make sure you stir it so it wont burn..mean while in ur blender put 2 roman tomatoes...and half a brown onion... and about 1/2 a cup on consomate
blend it meanwhile ur still stiring ur rice so it wont burn...when ur done blending..put it in the pan where you have the rice and add water (half ur blender)stir.... let it more alittlle after 10 minutes turn off ur stove and let it sit for about 20 minutes :)...check back wiht me on how it turned out!
The way I used to make it is my cooking it in tomato juice, then adding salsa right before serving, Use a chucky one, it leaves nice pieces of onion, peppers etc, flecked throughout the rice.
Tomatoe sauce or tomatoe paste.
