Frozen Pot roast?!

Question: I didnt think ahead and my roast wasnt taken out of the freezer till JUST NOW. If I cook it in my crockpot for about 9 hours will it be cooked through and tender like it is when I cook it from a thawed state?

Anyone else cook a pot roast from a frozen state in your slow cooker with successful results??

I have done exactly what you said. I didnt think ahead and the same thing happened. I put the frozen pot roast in my crockpot with the veggies and stuff and it did cook, but it took alot longer to get tender. It is possible, but if you have a defrost button on your microwave, i would definately try to defrost is a bit before cooking, to cut down on the cooking time. Or possibly Leave the potroast in it's packaging, but soak in a sink filled with cold water for about a 1/2 hour. That will help defrost it quicker, but use COLD water, not hot.
Either way, it will cook, but it will take longer to get the meat tender.

yes.
you could also use your defrost on your microwave first and then cook it.....

If you have a pressure cooker it can be done from frozen in this and will be very tender.

Yes, my cooker only has low and high. So I put it on high with a little beef broth.the last hour I put in a bag of frozen stew vegtables, came out great
Good Luck
