i swear i just answered this for some1 already lol i have a great one i use thats from scratch, no packets or msg included lol
i have a great low fat ranch i make try it sometime
Makes about 1 cup.
Ingredients3/4 cup well-shaken low-fat (1 1/2%) buttermilk
2 tablespoons low-fat or soy mayo (its even lower in fat!)mayonnaise
2 tablespoons nonfat sour cream
1 tablespoon packed fresh basil leaves, minced
1 tablespoon finely chopped fresh chives
2 teaspoons cider vinegar
1 teaspoon dry mustard
1 teaspoon fresh thyme leaves
1 garlic clove, minced
1/2 teaspoon sugar or splenda (this is a great product!)
in a blender or food processor blend all ingredients and salt and pepper to taste until smooth. Dressing keeps, covered and chilled, 1 week.
Ranch Dressing or Dip
1/2 of a 1-oz. packet of Hidden Valley Ranch Original Salad Dressing Mix (dry mix)
1 TB vinegar
1/2 cup water
2 TB fat-free cream cheese
1/4 tsp garlic salt (or 1/8 tsp garlic powder)
15 Pringles fat-free, sour-cream-and-onion flavor potato crisps
Put all of the ingredients into an electric blender and blend on high speed until VERY, VERY smooth. Serve immediately, or let sit 10 minutes to thicken more. Refrigerate after using. (Keeps about a week in the fridge.)
Yield: 1 cup of dressing/dip 2 points per CUP.
Serves 8.
Point calculation:
Dressing mix: 40 cal, 0 fat, 0 fiber
Vinegar: 0 cal, 0 fat, 0 fiber
Fat-free cream cheese: 30 cal, 0 fat, 0 fiber
Fat-free Pringles: 70 cal, 0 fat, 2 gm fiber
This unique, fat-free dressing/dip REALLY tastes like it's high-fat. It's my own original creation, no affiliation with any of the brand names. I know the Pringles ingredient sounds weird, but it's the secret to the high-fat taste. You'd never guess there are Pringles in it if you didn't know beforehand. Technically, the points calculation is 1/4 point per serving if a serving is considered to be two tablespoons. But this recipe format wouldn't accept a fraction for the estimated points per serving, so I rounded down for the per serving count.
