How can I decorate cookies with my daughter that aren't full of sugar?!
Answers: My daughter likes to decorate cookies that are full of sugar, and I don't want to let her do this. Alternative suggestions?
splenda, great sugar substitute
im lost
u can exchange sugar for Equal or another substitute or you can use cane or brown sugar it is better for u
there is some like cookie painting thing in the pampered chef kids in the kitchen book maybe check their website or go to kraft.com
You can let her decorate other healthy snacks.
Make ants on a log:
Celery with peanut butter and raisins for ants.
Waffle faces:
Whole wheat (or any other waffle) and let her decorate and make faces with bits of fruit, a couple chocolate chips.
I bet you can even add food coloring to peanut butter and take apple slices and let her "paint" on bread and other things.
Well, I would really recomend to go to Walgreens or Walmart and buy a cookie marker. This is an edible marker that has no sugar and you can draw on anything you want and it is EDIBLE i really like this. Good Luck
Make homemade cookies and add some healthy things like raisins or bran for extra fiber/nutritents. Have cream cheese icing, and color it to decorate the cookies
you can decorate with fruit such as raisins, cranberries and nuts, you can also use recipes that use applesauce or splenda to cut down on sugar!!!good luck
Put less sugar in every thing.Use a little red food coloring on white frosting.Try to get her out of doing it with lots of sugar like teach her or something.
fruit is yummy and will look great with low fat cream for adualts and full cream for kids [cause kids need fat in their body]
find a good shortbread recipe, it's usually not loaded with sugar. instead of slicing, make cookies out of it and adjust the baking time. then use raisins, peanut butter, sprinkle brown sugar, etc for decorating. or use the marker idea. you can also make a paste from food coloring and flour and a little water. play with the consistency and use that. good luck!
Well there is enough answers for you to decide about the cookie ingredients....
Have you thought of Wilton Cake Decorating items...like their gel colors....with these you may be able to just use a small paint brush and paint the cookies. Or as another answerer suggested...food coloring & water. I didn't know about adding the flour for consistency...I think it would taste pasty...You can also try making small amounts of water and cornstarch, make it thin enough to paint with and add color to small amounts. This of course without any sugar or just a bit, and add vanilla, or almond flavoring, cherry....or....
It is difficult to make a sugar cookie as white as they are without much sugar. Turbinado sugar is better for us than white, can be used the same as white sugar, but it has a light brown color. Good Luck
