Can you put boxed cheesy potatoes in the crock pot?!

Question: I need to bring cheesy potatoes to a potluck this afternoon at work. I didn't get home last night until after the store closed so I couldn't buy the ingredients I needed to make it from scratch. I have two boxes of the Velveeta Bacon Cheesy Potatoes - calls for 2 cps water in the stove or 2 1/2 cps water on the stove top. Can I use in the crockpot? How much water do you think I should use? It also calls for 1/2 cup milk either way.
Any guesses on how long I can leave it on the crock pot? I will get to work at 8:00 can I just put it on then to eat at noon?

YES! Did this...cook on high for TWO hours and cut down to LOW. Works great by the way.

Final note: Pour everything in all at once. Only use the WATER to cover (slightly) the potatoes. I think I used about a cup and a half of water.

I've never tried it but it's worth a shot. Keep the ingredients the same and cook on high. I'm thinking they might come out mushy though.

I really believe the crock pot will make it cook too long, and it will turn out mushy. The only way to find out is to try it. . If you were to put both of them in a glass dish, it will only take a short amount of time in the regular oven, why don't you do it before you go to work. After you take it out,let it cool and cover with foil. You can always reheat it when you take it to the potluck.

I would use 1/12 cups of water and the same amount of milk and then put it in the crockpot it will take a while.
