Anybody know a recipe for spaghetti with either dumplings or rollls in the sauce?!

Question: WHen I was in grade school I babysat for a family and they had this for dinner. In the spaghetti sauce was either dinner rolls or some sort of light dumpling.. Has anyone ever heard of this?
