Can I substitute bread crumbs for cornmeal?!
Answers: i totally forgot to buy some bread crumbs but i have a huge can of cornmeal.
I wouldn't because of the texture and taste difference. I would do as others suggested and tear up some bread and toast.
If you do use the cornmeal, let us know how it turned out and what you cooked.

Sure, what the heck, why not? The bread crumb police are not going to bust into your house and arrest you.
Do you have regular bread??? When I run out. I take a few slices of white bread and chop them in my food processor. That works great. I'm not sure about cornmeal. The textures are very different.
Toast a few pieces of bread then put in your food processor.
