Have you ever tried Beef Noodle Soup at a Vietnamese Pho restaurant, do you know how they make the beef?!

Question: I really like the well done beef that they put in the soup, it's cut into thin slices and it's nice and tendor. I think that it pre-cooked. Does anyone know how they make it? the cut of beef? how they cook it? I want to put it into my ramin noodles, I think it would taste nice. do you know?

i don't know what kind of cut it is, but the beef is put into the bowl of noodles and then the boiling broth is poured over top. that's the way everyone in my family makes it. i know if you go to a vietnamese super market [go to the meat counter] and say you need sliced beef for pho, they'll give you exactly what you need.

Ya know I had Pho yesterday for lunch - but I got the chicken so I'm not going to be much help to you. But I had to answer to thank you for suggesting how good the beef is. I'll try it the next time!

Its not Beef,its cat.

Unfortunately, unless you buy in bulk like many Vietnamese restaurants, it is very difficult to obtain dog beef. On the rare occasion you are able to, you need to boil a flank steak for around 2-5 hours...depending on preference.

You can buy very thinly sliced beef, pork or chicken at an Asian grocery store. They usually have them pre-packaged in the frozen food section.
