Ok, I think I'm going to try to make this for breakfast...hows it sound?!

Question: I am really short on groceries right now, and my hubby is working the day shift this weekend. I want to make something for him to eat when he wakes up. I was gonna take some chicken, dice it up and cook it, mix it with cream of chicken soup & water, and mix in drained mixed veggies. Then I was gonna make biscuits but I don't have the stuff to do it, so I was thinking that maybe he could dip bagels or toast into it.....does it sound ok? Any twists would be appreciated...thank you

as long as the bagels are toasted, or the toast it golden toasty brown, I think it would turn out ok. It would be almost like a chicken stew...more of a dinner than a breakfast but yeah I think it would work... I might try to season the chicken before putting it in, with a little pepper to give it some extra flavor. Make sure you taste test it before serving it to him, good luck with your recipe...

sounds good, serve toast on the side.

Sounds really good! Would probley be good served over toasted bread! Even over mashed potatoes my husband says! hope he enjoys your homemade meal for him!

sounds good you should pour it over the toast.

I'd do it over pasta for my dinner. That sounds really good. he might like the toast better first thing in the "morning" though.
It's preference, but a bagel seems a bit firm for it

If you have any eggs, then just ditch the soup and do a breakfast sandwich. if not, you could always use cheese and the chicken on the bagel nd make a breakfast sandwich that way.

sorry, that sounds gross as a breakfast dish. It sounds like a pot pie minus the crust, and I can't even look at pot pies without getting sick.
However, my husband loves stuff like that. If your husband also likes heavier food, he'll probably like it. Bagels don't work for dipping, they are too dense and don't soak up any of the liquid. make toast instead.

I would do it with toast. Butter the toast and spoon the chicken mix over the toast, yum! Or even if you have hamburger do it with hamburger.
