Can you freeze buttermilk?!

Question: Yes, but if you’re a buttermilk drinker, you’ll be disappointed. It is really only suitable for cooking and baking after it’s been frozen. (Most people we know think it's really only suitable for cooking and baking before it's been frozen, too.)
One source we have suggests not freezing buttermilk for longer than three months.

Yep. If you are keeping it in the freezer over your fridge, you can't keep it more than 2-3 months. All the opening and shutting keeps the freezer temp fluctuating too much to keep it longer. In a deep freezer thats rearely opened, it could go 6 months.

When you thaw it, the solids will seperate (normal for regular milk thats frozen as well) just swirl the container and the solids will go back into solution. Also frozen milk looks funny, but it will taste fine when thawed.

Cocoa says don't do it. You can but it will not taste like fresh. Thanks and good luck.
