How do you cook your vegatables?!

Question: Today I will steam cauliflower sprouts and carrots.

Answers: Today I will steam cauliflower sprouts and carrots.

i am always steaming all my veggies no matter what they are i add lemon juice to keep the veggies loosing there colour and i was told if you do this it gives you a certain percentage of vitamin C back in the winter while the sun isnt at its highest also i never remove there skins

I like to steam, roast or grill them. or just eat them raw.

Can't help you sorry ... i don't cook them ...SHE DOES
and she calls them vegEtables

Boil - or bake in olive oil.

Saute, steam, bake or I eat them raw. It all depends on the veggie I will be making.

By applying heat to them.

You just blanch them in boilling hot water if you boil them too much you take out all the vitamins so just do it till its easy to bite with a bit of hardness to it.

i like to eat them raw mostly, except for carrots and green beans

Try putting them in a pouch made out of aluminum foil add seasoning you like , a couple pats of butter close it up and bake in the oven until veggies are tender,,,,,really nice this way......

boil or steam

i like to roast them. i cut them into even sized pieces and lightly oil them. season with salt and pepper and place them on a baking sheet or dish and put in the oven on medium heat and cook for about 25 minutes or untill soft. mmmmmm

Yes, I steam most of mine too, apart from potatoes which if I'm baking I parboil and then put in the oven. Things like onions, sweet peppers and mushrooms can have a light sautee before they go into the steamer, to seal their juices in. Carrots are fine in the steamer, also parsnips if you cut them up finely. The more hefty vegetables like turnips and swedes seem to need a bit more of a vigorous boil though. Happy eating.

Always steam - its the healthiest option

I usually add bread crumbs over cauliflower or broccoli.

Usually I cook vegetable in hot water, then I use oil of olive, salt and some time balsamic vinegar or sauce of soia.

i usually boil or fry them!
depending on the recipie i am using!!

pan fried cauliflower sprouts with beef and add some wine

Steam them usually, it's healthier.

I made Sunday lunch today, we had roast pork loin, parsnips, carrots and broccoli, and loads of roasties, of course! I too always steam the veggies, keep the flavour, don't you think?

Hi D, Depends what kind of vegetables. Most of them i steam. A favorite of mine is Swiss Chard. I steam it.Then toss it with olive oil, balsamic vinegar and croutons. But i will try the tomatoes you mentioned in another question I purchased some yesterday. Can't Wait!

It all depends on the vegetable that i'm making. broccoli i like to steam then and then mix some milk and Velveeta cheese and melt it, then pour the cheese-milk mixture over the steamed broccoli, and it only takes about 5 to 7 minutes.
cauliflower you can do the same to but i like to mostly just either grill or steam them.
carrots i like to either grill, steam, or boil them.
squash is best if you either steam them or if you grill them till they have black lines covering them, the same with zucchini.
then again you could just eat them all with some salad dressing, the only one that you cant do that to is the squash and the zucchini.

there are others like tomatos, chick peas, green beans, and some more i cant think of right now but i like to cook healthy so thats why i steam them mostly, and/or grill them.

i usually steam them because it keeps the nutrients in it. you could also boil or fry them or deep fry them or marinade them or broil them. what ever you do have fun doing it. experiment a little.

if you know anyway to cook vegetables that i haven't said, please e-mail me the way to cook them. id really appreciate it.
