I would like to make some good Ambrosia. Do you have a recipe?!


Question: Ambrosia

3 (15-ounce) cans chunky fruit cocktail, drained
1 (11-ounce) can Mandarin oranges, drained
1 cup miniature marshmallows
1 cup sweetened flake coconut
2 bananas, thinly sliced
2/3 cup Evaporated Milk
1 cup sliced fresh strawberries
Combine fruit cocktail, oranges, marshmallows, coconut, bananas and evaporated milk in large bowl. Refrigerate for 30 minutes. Stir in strawberries before serving.
Makes 6 servings.

Fish is right except I would not put in the evaporated milk...if you let the mixture set up for several hours the marshmallows will dissolve enough to give it the creamy taste.

here is my low fat take on ambrosia

quartered strawberries
sliced kiwi fruit
bananas sliced
apples peeled and diced
madarin segments
green grapes halved

i container of low fatlemon or strawberry yogurt thinned with a few tablespoons of orangeeor pineapple juice
drizzle over fruit salad and sprinkle with coconut

mmmm ambrosia... reminds me of being a kid
