My recipe calls for 1 cup of mini. marshmallows but I only have large ones. What to do?!

Cut them up to mini size and measure into a cup. I have done that and it was perfect.

Cut them in 1/4s...especially if they need to retain their shape

Depends on what it's being used for, might take longer to melt but it should work. If it's for decorations on something, get the smaller ones or even the colored ones.

Kinda like when a recipe calls for 1 small onion and you only have a large one, Use you best judgement.

Cut the large one's in half then those in half again ans voila! instant mini marshmallows. measure on from there.

Place a light film of oil or butter on kitchen shears or a very sharp knife and cut the large ones into four parts each. The oil will keep the sugary marshmallows from sticking to your cutting utensil. Measure after cutting.
