Cook one package of frozen cheese tortellini according to the package directions.

Here are my quickie favorites. Any grilled sandwich is great. We like mesquite turkey and swiss, ham and swiss, or ham and cheddar. But here is our all time favorite:

Grilled Cream cheese sandwiches:

Cut very fresh french bread into 1/2 inch slices. Butter one side of each, put one side on pan. Cut a chunk of cream cheese to taste (mine are about 1/4 in to 1/2 inch thick). Spread on the bread. Top with the best tomatoes you can find. Salt and pepper. Add the other slice of bread, buttered side up. Grill one side until brown. Flip over, grill the other side until brown.
MMMMMmmmmm.

Two crockpot fav's. Crockpot is great because you don't have to do much at dinnertime. These two seem too simple to be good...try them, you'll be surprised.

Swiss Steak
1 round steak
2 cans stewed tomatoes
Egg noodles, cooked.

Sear the steak on both sides.
Put in crock pot and sprinkle with a good seasoned salt.
Add the two cans of tomatoes.
Cook all day (8 hours or so).
Serve over cooked and buttered egg noodles.
Yummy!

BBQ Ribs

Country Style Ribs (or any ribs on sale will work)
Onion
Bottled BBQ Sauce (any kind you like)

Sear ribs on all sides to seal in juices. Place in crock pot. Cover with sliced onions and BBQ sauce. Cook on low 8-10 hours. Yummy!!!

Serve with baked beans, cornbread…and this salad is great:

Caesar Coleslaw

1 pkg pre-made coleslaw
1/4-1/2 cup shredded parmesean cheese
1/2 pkg caesar croutons
1 bottle creamy caesar dressing

Toss first three ingredients together. Add enough dressing to coat. It's even good the next day!

Hope that helps! Congratulations on your baby!!

4 chicken breast
1 medium onion chopped
2 cloves of garlic chopped
1 package Lipton onion soup mix
1/2 bottle French dressing
1 jar of apricot preserves
salt & pepper to taste

Salt & Pepper both sides of chicken and place in the bottom of your crock pot. Combine the rest of the ingredients in a bowl and mix then pour over the top of the chicken.
Set your crock pot on low and cook for 6-8 hours. Serve with white rice and steamed veggies or a tossed salad.

I love recipes that you just throw in a crock pot and they are ready for you at the end of the day.

Alot of busy work can be done ahead of time, give me a little background of what you like cooking what your kids like.

i make quesadillas for all my young family members.

buy some shredded cheese from the grocery store, preferably a mexican blend.
and a package of tortillas.
(i sometimes chop up some red pepper and onion and mix it in, or chicken strips, for chicken quesadillas)
place a tortilla on a frying pan, medium heat, with cheese and peppers/onions/chicken if desired, and place the other tortille on top,
let it cook for about a minute or 2, and flip it over,
and wa la! great, simple and quick.

macaroni and cheese is always quick and very tasty for youngsters!
i suggest kraft macaroni cheeses (they have cartoon macaronis as well!)

frozen pastas are quick and really easy,
a bag of tortillini and some prego sauce is all you need, and is done within 10 minutes.
or any pasta for that matter.

chicken cutlets are also quick.
buy some chicken from the store,
bread crumbs,
and eggs.
layer the cutlets beated eggs,
and then layer it in bread crumbs,
and fry on a frying pan.
and just add some steamed veggies, or salad, mashed potatoes, or yellow rice etc.
