You have a pound of hamburger. What do you make? Include recipe, please:).?!

Question: You could make a million things...obviously there are hamburger helper type things, but also, you could make meatballs, or this interesting thing my mother used to make. She called it a hamburger ring. It came out of a pampered chef book.
You need hamburger, ketchup, mustard, cheese (shredded, usually cheddar), dill pickle slices, and a can of croissants. (Like Pillsbury bake your own croissants)

All you do is fry the hamburger up, drain off the grease, add the cheese so that it melts, then add the rest so that the mixture sticks together (not too much so that it's like a soup), and then place those in the croissants. The croissants need to be arranged in a circle on a cookie sheet (or better, on a stone ring) so that the fat part of the triangles form the ring. You need to use your fingers to press this thicker part together, so that you can spoon the hamburger mixture onto it. Once all of the mixture is placed on the croissants, pull the other side (the thinner, longer side) over the mixture and pinch it to the bottom of the thick part which holds the mixture so that it forms the ring. Once you do this all the way around, it should look very pretty, with the croissants and mixture both showing. Throw it in the oven, according to the directions on the can of croissants, and enjoy! It sounds sort of...scary, but it tastes delicious. You can use this same recipe with broccoli, chopped up ham, cheese, and honey mustard which is also delicious. Good luck!

4 hamburgers. Fry them up, put on a soft hamburger bun, add relish. Add potato salad as a side and a green salad. Enjoy.

I'd probably just make some burgers or tacos; I don't mind if you call me lazy ;)

I make my own little remedy.
I cook the burger in a saucepan on medium heat until browned. Meanwhile, heating some Hunts gravy in a medium saucepan and boiling some elbow macaroni in a pot. Then, when the pasta is ready, I drain out the water and in a bowl I combine the burger, noodles, and gravy together. Then, I sprinkle Parmesan cheese all over and it melts right in and taste great.

Homemade Maggot Stew

2 tb Vegetable oil
1/4 c Flour
1/2 ts Salt
1/2 ts Pepper
1/4 ts Garlic powder
1 lb Stew beef cut in one inch Chunks
2 cn (14 1/2oz) plain stewed Tomatoes
1 cn (10 1/2oz) beef broth
1 ts Thyme
1 Bay leaf
3 md To 4 carrots
1 c Fresh or frozen green beans
3/4 c Orzo pasta

--TOOLS--
Sharp knife
lg Stew pot with lid
Ziploc bag
Long handled cooking spoon
Carrot peeler
lg Saucepan
Colander
Slotted spoon
8 Soup bowls
Soup ladle

Place oil in stew pot and with an adult's help, turn heat to medium low. Measure flour, salt, pepper and garlic powder into ziploc bag. Drop in stew beef, seal bag and shake until well coated. Pour contents of bag into the stew pot. Turn the heat up to medium.

With an adult's help, use a long handled spoon to turn the meat every 3-4 minutes, letting the meat brown well on all sides. Cook until the meat begins to look crusty. Add the tomatoes, broth, thyme and bay leaf. Bring to a boil, then lower heat to low.

With an adult's help, peel the carrots and cut them into small coins with a knife. When the stew has simmered for one hour, add the carrots and green beans to the pot. Cover and simmer another 45 minutes.

With an adult's help, cook the orzo in a saucepan according to the package directions. when just tender, drain it through a colander into the sink, shaking out any excess water. These are your maggots. Add them to the stew pot, then turn off heat and carefully blend.

Sicko serving suggestion: Turn any meaty meal into a freakish feast by spreading a layer of orzo maggots on top of your roasted, baked or boiled beast!

One of my favorite things to make, and my family's favorite things to eat are "hobo packs".

Divide the meat into four equal parts and then form them into patties.

Look in your fridge/freezer and see what kind of veggies you have. I usually use potatoes, carrots, onion, and frozen corn. However, you can use any combination of veggies; fresh and/or frozen. If you are using fresh veggies you have to cube the potatoes, slice the carrots and dice the onion.

Tear off a piece of foil. Place the patty in the center of the foil. I use garlic salt and pepper on the patty. Then, diced onions on top. Then, pile up the veggies of your choice into a mound over the patty. Salt and pepper the veggies. Then, take a piece of butter or bit of margarine and put on top of veggies. Tear another piece of foil and put over the top and fold up all the edges to seal the packet.

Repeat this process for all four. Bake them direclty on the oven rack at 375 for 45 minutes. Check one of the packets at 45 minutes to be sure the potatoes are cooked through. These are super easy once you make them one time, and you can also make these with chicken breasts and any type of veggies you like to eat. Fresh mushrooms are wonderful in these packets, too. And, if after you put together your four packets you have some veggies left, make a packet with just veggies and salt, pepper, and butter. They bake up just as wonderful as the ones with meat in them.

Kids love to help put them together, and when I make them for my family I pre-dice all the veggies and put them into different bowls and let the kids put their own packet together. Then they put their name on the top piece of foil with a permanent market. It's fun for them, and honestly, they taste really yummy.

Tamale Pie

1 lb. of hamburger
1 onion, diced
1 can diced tomatoes
1 can of corn and/or pinto beans
1 tablespoon taco seasoning (or packet)
Salt and pepper to taste about 1 teaspoon of each
1 cup of milk
1/2 cup of cornmeal (or cream of wheat)
1 can sliced olives
2 cups of grated cheese
Large skillet
13x9 casserole dish

Mix cornmeal (cream of wheat) into milk and let sit on the side. Brown ground beef and onions in skillet. Add tomatoes, corn/beans, and seasonings. Simmer for 10 minutes. Stir in milk/cornmeal mixture and simmer an additional 10 minutes. Stir in 1 cup of cheese and half of olives. Pour into casserole dish. Cover with last of cheese and olives. Bake at 325 degrees for 40 minutes or until brown and bubbley.

Stretch burgers... add an egg and some flour to the hamburger meat season with salt & pepper and you'll have a couple of extra burgers.

OR...

You can crumble it up in the skillet like season as it's cooking, salt, pepper, garlic powder, onion powder or an onion add some frozen veggies. When it's done pour over cooked rice.

Something I taught my daughter, that's fast and easy..Cook the hamberger with chopped onions until done(generally in a frying pan) remove with a slotted spoon and leave the drippings in the pan...next add 3 0r 4 tablespoons of flour to drippings and stir and let the flour brown a bit, then add milk, using a whip incorporate a little milk at a time so you don't get lumps.....heat, stiring constantly until thickened, you probably will need about a quart of milk or more to make a nice white gravy,,,add the meat and onions back into the gravy and cook with a low heat..add salt and pepper to taste..You may add some beef stock to give it more flavor....Toast yourself six or eight pieces of bread..butter and scoop gravy over them on a plate....WAALAAA Crap on shingles as it was called in the old army and it's still wonderful to eat....My grandson loves it.......Zoee

Cook up scambled style and add some cooked macaroni noodles, 1 can of diced stewed tomatos. And about 1/2 can of corn.

Top with shredded cheese. My Mom called it Johnny Marsetti, it's kinda like gouloush.

Shepards Pie
1 pd burger
1 16 oz bag frozen mixed veggies-thawed
2 cups mashed potatos-homemade or instant
2 cloves garlic minced
4 oz cream cheese
1 1/2 cups shredded cheese, chedder or whatever ya have
2 cups brown gravy-homemade or instant

Brown burger and drain, add the veggies and gravy, mix well. Pour into a 9x9 baking pan.

In the mean time as you are cooking the burger, add the cream cheese, garlic and 1/2 cup of the shredded cheese to the mashed poatatoes.

Pour the potatos on top of the meat mix, smooth, don't worry about getting it perfectly even. Top with remaining cheese. Cover with tin foil, try to not let the foil touch the cheese.

Bake at 375 for about 25-30 min, turn the oven to broil and remove foil. Broil until cheese is browned.

Cook it and add it to your fav spagettie sauce, use it in lasagna.

Make meatloaf. Or make meat ballstop with marinera or spagetti sauce, and have meat ball sandwich. Or serve the meatballs with b-b-q sauce, hot sauce or make then into sweedish meatballs.

Make an untilmate buger, mix a little shredded cheese or cream cheese or a mix of both, cooked chopped bacon, chopped onion, and some mushrooms. Make a thin burger patty and place a "ball" of the cheese mix in the center and top with another thin burger patty. Press and seal, fry and serve on a bun.
Burger is very versatile.

Sloppy joes, chili, spaghetti, shepherds pie, cowboy beans, meatballs and gravy......

good luck

I fry up the hamburger with some chooped onion and garlic salt, drain, add two cans of Ranch Style beans, let that mixture simmer for a few minutes. In a casserole dish I crush up some tortilla chips to cover the bottom, add the meat/bean mixture on top, spread cheddar cheese (I sometimes use cheddar cheese soup as well before putting the cheddar on) and then make another layer...adding cheddar cheese to the top. I place it in the oven at 375 degrees for about 25 minutes or longer if the cheese hasn't melted. This is my version of taco casserole. I serve it with spanish rice and a salad.
