How do you quickly thaw frozen fish fillets?!

Question: I have some frozen whiting fillets. I would love to make something for dinner tonight using the fillets, but how do I thaw them? I've tried thawing fish in the microwave in the past, but ended up half cooking them. If you do thaw them in the microwave, at what setting and for how long?

In a bowl or pot under COLD running water

put the filets in a zip lock bag, make sure all air is out and it is sealed well, and place the bag in a pot and cover with water, regular temperature....(NO warm or hot water).

.

I wouldn't trust the thawing cycle in the MW. Different MW's have different power levels so if you can't find the instruction book for yours I would be suspicious of times you may be given.

Run them under the cold tap or let them soak. Do not use hot water or that will start to poach them.

plain old cold water - put them in a bowl and run cold water over them.

thaw setting. maybe for 1-2 minutes. keep your eye on them constantly.

don't use the microwave. bad idea, particularly with fish. just set them in a bowl, and run cold water over them. make sure you keep the water running, if not it will get too cold and the fish will stick together and not thaw. it should only take about 10/12 minutes.

It might to late for your dinner : ) but just want to let you know that when you want to thaw every meat simply you need to put on the stainless sink, stainless has something that help all the meat from the freezer thaw quicker,

hope might help ,have a great day

do not remove the fish from its packaging, place it inside a pot and position it under the tap, run water over it continuously and after 30 minutes, the fish will be thawed

if your meal is planned, thaw your food inside the the refrigerator by placing it at the warmest place inside overnight, its safer also.

run them in cool water
