3 minutes in the boiling water...Wait until the water begins to boil and put the eggs on it.. no more than 2 eggs or more than 3 eggs use 3.5 minutes

Soft boiled eggs can be cooked in various ways and the cooking time as such would depend on the method used. For best results one should start off the eggs with cold water as this would ensure that the inner consistency of the eggs being cooked remains runny as well as the eggshell staying firm and not cracking due to a sudden change in temperature. The water should be brought to a boil following which the eggs should be further allowed to cook for a period of three minutes or more depending on desired consistency on a low flame. One can also take the eggs of the heat and let them simmer for about 5 minutes following which they can be peeled preferably after running them under cold water which would ensure smooth peeling. If one is cooking several eggs simultaneously one should peel the eggs all at once to avoid any overcooking in the shell.

well, you can put the egg in cold water and once it comes to a rolling boil, let it simmer for 1-2 mins. Hope this helps!

Get the water simmering, add a few drops of vinegar, add the egg gently and leave for 2.75 minutes.
The top must always be peeled off, never sliced.

put desired number of eggs in cookware, cover with cold water. Add a good amount of salt. Bring to a rolling boil, and cook for five minutes. Turn off heat and let water cool til you are able to handle them. Run under cold water. Super easy to peel.

This is a hard one, because mine turn out good enough for me, but are they "perfect"?

I put them in before the water boils (so the shell does not crack),
then watch and as soon as the water starts to boil I turn over my little hour glass thing (designed for eggs).
I think it is 3 minutes.

But If I wanted to be able to do it perfect, and repeat,
I think I would need to take the water temperature when I did the experiments.
Even the size of the egg is going to change the exact amount of time for perfection.
Even the amount of white to yoke will change the exact times some.

If you want truly perfect hard boiled eggs every time, you need to get an egg cooker. They're not expensive and you can't forget how long to cook, because the cooker has a timer. After the timer goes off, I put eggs in cold water. When they're cool, I tap them all around and peel under cold water.

I never have that problem with the white sticking to the shell (I hate that) and they don't have a grey ring around the yokes, either.

You can buy an egg cooker at any kitchen store, or order one online...You'll be glad you did!

This works for me, bring the pan of water to the boil and then drop the egg in and time 6 minutes, it cooks the white enough so that it is not "snotty" and the yolk is perfectly soft. I must say I use only free range eggs in LARGE size.
