French toast!?!
Answers: What's the simplest recipe per say?
The easiest way to make french toast is egg, milk & cinnamon.
Its 1 egg for every 2 slices of toast.
You use about 1 tablespoon milk to every egg & whisk together.
I sprinkle that with cinnamon for extra kick but you don't have to or you can substitue for allspice or nutmeg.
Challah Bread sliced, Eggs beaten with cinnamin and sugar with a bit of milk. Soak bread then put into pan... when brown flip and cook the other side.
Dip bread slices in a mixture of egg and milk. Fry in butter on both sides. That's the simplest.
However, why be simple? Add cinnamon to the egg mixture. Use different breads, like raisin or even banana bread, French or challah. Get creative! If you have thick slices, cut a pocket into them and fill them with chocolate or with sweetened cream cheese...yum!
let a couple of pieces of bread sit out for awhile , crack an egg in a bowl , mix it w/ a pinch cinnamon + nutmeg add a small splash of milk , lightly grease then heat your pan , dredge bread in egg mixture , drop in pan , turn when edges are nice + golden ,remove +top w/ pinch powdered sugar if you like , eat
The simplest is: 1 egg per person with a 1/4 cup milk and a pinch of cinnamon. Beat well, soak bread on both sides, while the skillet is heating- take out bread and put in hot skillet, check for doneness and flip over for a couple of seconds. Once done, remove from pan- top with syrup or canned fruit. Repeat until everybody is full. Enjoy!
I use regular loaf bread, you could use any type of bread though. In a shallow dish I break eggs (the amount depends on how much french toast you are making), and add a little milk, I also add a little ground cinnamon. Beat together. In a large saute pan add just a little oil, a tablespoon should be fine, heat on medium high heat. Dip the bread into the egg mixture and fry, flip and cook until each side is brown. Serve with maple syrup or the topping of your choice.
just egg and milk, but we add cinnamon, sugar, nutmeg and vanilla--all of those should be in your cabinets!
We also use raisin bread, challa, and sourdough
for a quick and esay way just put some butter, pancake syrup, and cinnamon on a piece of bread and put it in the toaster. Then put more syrup on it when it's done. =]. it tastes really good. i would get some i cannot believe its not butter spray for an even easier way. By getting some low cal syrup and the spray, you can have frecnh toast even on a diet under 200 calories! =]
I like to add a bit of vanilla to my french toast. 2 eggs a 1/2 capful of vanilla. 1 teaspoon of sugar and even a dash of Cinnamon on occasion. Soak the bread, (I like Italian) until slightly spongy. slide soaked bread over edge of batter pan, (get rid of excess batter I use a pie plate for ease.) and fry on medium high. I'm getting hungry just talking about! Bon appetite!
I don't think putting butter and pancake syrup on bread and then putting it in the toaster is a very good idea. Your toaster would end up greasy and sticky inside. I just do the egg and milk mix, dip the bread in and do it in the frying pan.
2 eggs, 1/2 c. milk, 1 TBS. Lemon or Orange Juice, 1/2 tsp. nutmeg, 1 tsp. cinnamon. beat well.......
Dip any kind of bread in the egg mixture.... one at a time... and put in buttered skillet. Put a small dab of butter on top. Turn and cook again until golden brown and firmed.
Enjoy!
Challah bread cut thick, soak in milk, egg, vanilla. Fry until browned.
