My mom made me chicken noodle soup and froze it in the freezer... best way to unthaw it?!
Answers: I want some mom's homemade soup! I am standing here holding the container trying to figure out... do I just put it in the pan as is and it will melt or do I try to thaw it somehow first? I'm telling you, first time in my own apartment and I have food questions like crazy!
Do you have a microwave (if not be sure to buy one, and also buy a crock pot).
You can put it in the microwave, cover the top of the container, cook for a couple of minutes, check to see if it is melted and heated, if not keep heating one or two minutes until it is hot.
If you do not have a microwave, put it in a pan and heat on low or low-medium. It will start melting.
You can also put it in the bottom of the fridge and it will be melted by the next day.

Cooking Help for the future:
Smithfield, Hormel, Armour have packages of PRE-COOKED beef tips, roast, pot roast, pork roast, chicken, ham, meatload. Use this for your meat dish with a side dish or two of vegetables, rice, or potatoes. You will find these packages near the meat section, they are not frozen.
Tyson's fully cooked whole chickens are delicious. I serve them often with S&W canned sweet potatoes, Stove-Top dressing, microwave chicken/turkey gravy, a vegetable, cranberry sauce, and Pillsbury Microwave Biscuits which are better than I can make. A frozen pie defrosted and fully cooked. Perfect for one or two people at Thanksgiving or Christmas.

You can buy a roasted chicken or two at your supermarket's deli section. They also have all types of salads and vegetables already cooked.

Go to the frozen foods department and buy frozen dinners. Our favorite brands to buy are Stouffer's, Marie Calendar's, Michael Angelo's, Boston Market's. Delicious.
There are many good frozen pies and cakes too.
Just follow the directions on the containers.

Another thing you can do is cook in a slow cooker or a crock-pot. You put the meat meal into the crock-pot in the morning and it cooks all day long. The meal is ready at dinner time. Be sure to read the booklet that comes with the crock-pot. Here are some recipes for you:

depends how much soup if not put it in the microave or just put it to cook cause itll take 3 hours for it to unfreeze
1. Let thaw at room temp.
2. Microwave it
3. Put in a pan on the stove at med-high heat.
2......is best.... 1. is slow....... 3. may damage noodles
hope this helps.
Put it in a pan that's about the size of the frozen soup-ball, plus space to stir around it. Turn the burner to a LOW heat, cover it, and stir it around a bit every 10 minutes or so. Occasionally, you'll also want to take the soup-ball & flip it over as well, so that not just one side is getting the melting effect of the heat.
Depending on the quantity, you should have soup in about 1/2-1 hour.
Let it sit out for a few hours, or let it sit in a pool of warm water for a few hours. Then cook it in the pan like you would any other soup.
IF IT'S FROZEN, IT'S ALREADY UN-THAWED. TRY THE MICROWAVE TO THAW IT.
If you put it in the pan to melt it, make sure you do it really slowly, and with a lid on. It might end up cooking too much water off otherwise. It should probably work, but if you're worried about it, thaw it first. The best way to thaw it is to put it in the sink in a pot, still in it's container or bag or whatever, and fill the pot up with cold water, and then keep the water running a little bit over it. The only thing faster is the microwave, but it might overcook some parts of it while leaving other parts still frozen, since microwaves don't heat evenly.
#1 Put all of it into pot on stove and heat on medium for as
long as it takes to melt
#2 In the microwave--Quicker thaw
#3 On the counter- Several hours.
You can do it on the stove top, but use a real low heat and make sure the pan is big enough, assuming it expands a little.
Run warm water in the sink and let it set until is unthawed. or Put it in the microwave on defrost.
I can relate to your situation...You can either thaw it out over night by putting it on your refrigerator part or on a Pot at low heat until melted...they turn up the heat until boils for three minutes. ...Enjoy..
By the way...if you put it on the microwave to thaw out...Will likely overcooked...so dont put it on the microwave as some said.
