Anytime you do any baking try this. Grease the bottom and sides aof your baking dish, set the dish on a sheet of parchment or waxed paper, trace an outline just lightly larger than the pan. And cut it out. Place in the bottom of the pan and press down into the corners, lightly spray the paper with cooking spray. (You can use shortening,as well)
Pour the batter in and bake like normal, When it is done then just flip and then peel off the paper.

As far your current dilema, cut around the edges and then cut into pieces (make the pieces at least as wide as your spatula, if you have to then you can but them small when you get them out) . The first brownie out make have to be sacraficed, but after that it should go better.

Sacrifice the edges. Take a sharp knife (or plastic one, actually, does pretty well w/ brownies) and cut about a half-inch in from the edges, more if it's still stuck there. Cut around the whole pan. Then work a spatula under there and lift form the pan bottom. Invert on a cutting board, and cut from the bottom w/ a long, sharp knife into portions.

I usually use plain Pam for my brownies, and they dont' stick... but then I dont' like chocoalte chips in my brownies. If you put chips in yours, I can see how that would stick.

Good Luck with your brownies

Actually, it sounds like it wasn't "Pam's" fault - it sounds like you over baked them and/or totally let them cool on a cooling rack before cutting them and removing them or turning the entire pan over to then cool and cut.

I haven't ever used the "baking Pam". I either grease and flour a pan (and normally use wax paper) or I only spray the pan and know that I'm going to cut the squares as I need them and then lift with a spatula.

Sorry yours didn't work out - but don't blame it on Pam!

wow, I don't believe your answers. I use totally generic cooking sprays. Whatevers on sale, I make brownies all the time. i think the spatula is the way to go. And ignore the rude people.

most brownie failures are due to over baking, overcooked brownies become very very sticky tough and brittle.
your best bet is to freeze the brownies in the pan, fill your sink or a large container with hot hot hot water, use a spatula or knife to free up the edges and then lower the bottom of the pan into the hot water to melt the layer of chocolate and butter that has attathed itself to the bottom of the pan. place a plate or cutting board on top of the brownie pan and then flip it upside down and tap the bottom of the pan untill they fall out.
