Can you freeze an Amish friendship bread Starter?!

Question: I have a starter for Amish Friendship Bread. It has to be fed every 5-10 days with flour, milk, and sugar and then a third of it must be made into bread. I cant really keep up with it right now due to a busy schedule. Can I freeze it without killing it?

No you cant. You are making homemade Yeast, Extreme heat, and cold kills Yeast, it is better, just to give it to somebody, and let them feed it for you.

NO!!! don't freeze it or you will kill the fermenting action!!! This is yeast!!!

I ahve to say no as the cold will kill the yeast.

If you live in Denver you can give it to me! I'll talke good care of it until you can take it back... I love friendship bread.

No you cant freeze Amish bread started , it will kill the yeast in in . If you aren't going to use it share with a friend or ask someone to feed it for you but don't freeze it

No you will kill the bacteria in it that is growing, and you need that to make it. If you can't keep up maybe you can pass it on to someone that can.
