Imitation crab meat spaghetti sauce?!
Answers: I have on hand a package of imation crab meat, a jar of spagettii sauce, and whole wheat spagetti noodles. What I dont have is a good idea on how to combine the whole into a palatabe meal. Any idea?
1/4 to 1/2 pound fresh crabmeat (or 1 can crabmeat)
16 ounces homemade meatless spaghetti sauce (or 1 bottle meatless spaghetti sauce)
1/4 cup butter
2 to 3 cloves garlic, pressed
1/2 teaspoon oregano leaves, crumbled
1/2 teaspoon thyme leaves, crumbled
1/4 teaspoon rosemary leaves, crushed
1/2 teaspoon basil leaves, crushed
Cooked spaghetti or linguine
Parmesan or Romano cheese or a mixture of both
In a saucepan heat crabmeat
In another pan heat spaghetti sauce. In third pan melt butter, garlic, oregano, thyme, and rosemary leaves. Place cooked spaghetti or linguine on a large platter and arrange crab across top. Pour spaghetti sauce over half the dish and garlic butter over other half. Sprinkle Parmesan/Romano cheese over top.
Yeah dump the speghetti sauce in a pan, cook,
5-10 minutes before your noddles are done add your crabmeat to the sauce, very good.
that sound good! I had shrimps with spagetti sauce other day!
Sure, you Can combine these ingredients and make a "palatable meal". My next advise is to never buy imitation crab meat again. If you want crab or the taste of crab, buy the real stuff.
I don't think the imitation crab will be good in a red sauce. Do you have any bread, garlic (or garlic powder) and mild, white cheese? If so, butter the bread, sprinkle with either chopped garlic or garlic powder, cover with the chopped imitation crab meat and sprinkle with shredded cheese. Pop under the broiler at the last minute after your pasta and sauce are done and serve it as a side to the pasta.
Otherwise, leave the sauce in the jar. Cook the pasta and add butter or olive oil and the imitation crab for a lighter meal.
Cook the noodles. Divide into two pans. Put yours sauce in with one of the pans of noodles...... and in the second pan...
Add finely minced garlic or use garlic powder. 1 TBS butter, 1/4 cup milk or cream, salt & pepper to taste, and parmesan cheese. Put in the imitation crab.
In the first pot with spaghetti sauce you can eat it plain, or fry up some bacon....... and make carbonara.
hope this helps.
Imitation crab meat is made from fish, so sure why not? Just dice up the "crab" meat and add into the pasta sauce right before you serve it. You might want to check it first to see if it's something you like.. Sounds like a good mix to me, and I'm a chef.
