Just made some good granola, but it doesn't stick together AT ALL...its so loose it's hard to eat...?!
Answers: How can I make it stick together like little clusters or something? What should I do with it?
Warm it in the oven for ten minutes and then add about 1/2 cup honey for every 2 cups of granola. If it is a bit sticky at first don't worry. The oats will absorb some of the stickyness as it cools.
You can also mix one egg in plus about 1/4 brown sugar(optional) for about every 3 cups of granola and bake it at 350 for about 15 miuntes to make granola bars. 6 cups of granola should make about a 9"x13" pan. Cut while it's still kind of warm.
try adding a little caramel or just eat it with a spoon!
put some honey in it that will do the trick and taste yummy too!
did you bake it
maybe put some honey on it and put it back in the oven until it gets cluster-y
try adding honey-gives it a lil extra taste and it will stick together well. :)
Granola isn't supposed to stick together. You just eat it like cereal. Perhaps you want to make granola bars instead? Go to southerncooking.com for a great bar recipe. Lots of honey and brown sugar involved, that's what makes it stick together. Good luck hon.
granola is actually just the 'mixture' of raw ingredients, fruit pieces, nuts, raisins, whole wheat crunchies, etc.-by itself it is NOT going to stick to itself! It's just a mixture you eat by the handful or spoonful (with milk) like cereal.
To get it to stick together like a granola 'bar',that is done by mixing it up with honey, corn syrup, whatever the particular 'recipe' for granola BARS is you want to make.
Do a search in YAHOO food and I'll bet you find a ton of recipes for it.
any edible adhesive will do but something sweet that won't completely harden like a brick might be best. you can do it.
honey will work-- put the oven on warm-- mix up the granola with some watered down honey (not too watery-- not too thick, right in between) in a bowl. bake it and check it every so often until it is your preferred stickiness. personally, it has taken me about 30 minutes.
Add some form of syrup to help it stick together. You can add simple syrup (equal parts of water and sugar boiled together), corn syrup, molasses, or honey. Just warm up the syrup, before adding.
I think you made trail mix
honey, caramel, melted marshmallow
