Is this how you cook salmon?!
Answers: I'm making dinner and i put garlic salt and pepper on my salmon. I was thinking of putting it in the oven for about 25-30 min. Is this a good idea? ANy suggestions you would like to give me for a better salmon?
Well, I would personally use the broiler then the oven, but for salmon I think sauting in olive oil is best:
Salt and pepper salmon
In a medium-high flame pan, add 2 tblspn's of olive oil
Put skin side down, if you want the skin crispy, slice diagonal 1/4 inch slits in them, then add salt/pepper
You can tell when to flip, when its 2/3 the way the salmon is cooked, another words turning from pink to white
Flip and cook for another 2 min on that side
Serve over anything you can think of, squeeze of lemon juice on it would be nice, enjoy
Rub the salmon with olive oil (or mayo), season with salt, pepper & dried parsley. Place on a foil lined pan and cook at 350 degrees for 20-25 minutes... it should be moist and juicy. Start checking it at 20 minutes with a fork.
Sounds good. Also, if you like, drizzle with butter or olive oil and a sprinkle of dill. Watch the cooking time. Check after 15 minutes as over cooking will make fish dry and tough. When it flakes easily, it is done.
2 cloves garlic, minced
6 tablespoons light olive oil
1 teaspoon dried basil
1 teaspoon salt
1 teaspoon ground black pepper
1 tablespoon lemon juice
1 tablespoon fresh parsley, chopped
2 (6 ounce) Wild Salmon Dinner Fillets
Preparation:
1.In a medium glass bowl, prepare marinade by mixing garlic, light olive oil, basil, salt, pepper, lemon juice and parsley. Place salmon fillets in a medium glass baking dish, and cover with the marinade. Marinate in the refrigerator about 1 hour, turning occasionally.
2.Preheat oven to 375 degrees F (190 degrees C).
3.Place fillets in aluminum foil, cover with marinade, and seal. Place sealed salmon in the glass dish, and bake 35 to 45 minutes, until easily flaked with a fork.
I personally like to rub mine with ginger and garlic, put a pat of butter on top of it, and bake it at 400 degrees for about 18-20 minutes (for about a half pound filet of salmon). The skin will be crispy, and the flesh will be flaky, tender and juicy, with so much flavor from the garlic and ginger
