Celery seed substitution?!

Question: I have a recipe which calls for celery seeds but, believe it or not, I cant find them anywhere (i live in North London). Is there anything I can substitute them for? I know they have a distinct flavour, so if not - any idea where I can get some?!

Mince up some celery with its leaves...and that should fix your problem!

hope this helps...and Good luck with your Recipe!!

I don't know why you are having trouble. It is a common spice here. You can omit it or use caraway seed (perhaps crushed, to spread it out more, celery seeds are small.)

you can use celery,or celery leaves, but you should be able to find them in the store in the spices

can you find celery salt ? use instead of the salt in the recipe. but be careful it is strong
